Stories with Drums

Teaching Artist: Kunama Mtendaji

Kunama drums, sings, dances and tells stories with a vibrant energy, bringing together students of all ages. The tales, rich in African-American folklore, come to life through audience participation in music and dance from the United States, Africa, Brazil and the Caribbean. The program can be customized to highlight a season or a character education theme, such as respect, cooperation or perseverance.
