Moving Through STEM

Teaching Artist: Leverage Dance Theater

Designed especially for STEM nights, this program includes two 30-minute excerpts of this ensemble’s popular “Moving Through Math” and “Moving Through Science” performances. “Moving Through Math” targets grades K-2 and is an interactive lecture demonstration that introduces age-appropriate geometry, counting, adding, and more – through creative movement activities. During the 2nd half of this program, students (and parents) will be invited to join the dancers and move through activities, including learning and performing a dance based on geometry. “Moving Through Science” is geared for grades 3 – adult, and is a fun introduction to the Laws of Motion and how dancers use physics to create bigger jumps, lifts, and turns.
