Moving Through Multiplication

Teaching Artist: Leverage Dance Theater

Designed to help students conceptually grasp the foundation of multiplication, this program is designed to support student learning of factors and multiples, and later on, fractions. It explores how patterns lay the fundamental building blocks of music, dance, and mathematics. Students can see, hear, and feel how patterns, repeated addition, skip counting, and multiplication are all related strategies based on multiplying equal groups. The residency will lead students through learning 2s, 3s and 4s “times tables” and leaves teachers with a template to support future learning.
