Mindful Movements for the Soul

Mindful Movements for the Soul will introduce students to mindfulness through yoga. Students will engage in breathing exercises and intentional movement to learn to listen to their bodies and minds. Students will always choose and feel empowered to take their yoga lessons off the mat and into the home, the classroom, and everyday life.

Teachers can extend the lessons from yoga into the classroom as calm down techniques, transitions, and morning meetings with students. The program objectives include increased body awareness, increased spatial awareness and flexibility, Understanding and applying the concept of relaxation and breathing, and becoming increasingly aware of the benefit they are receiving from their yoga practice.

Each class is structured to make all students feel that they belong and that their voice is essential. Students will engage in self-care practices as well as build empathy and think in challenging situations. Also available for virtual residencies and workshops.
