Teaching Artist: Sarah Council

Designed to Move is a 3-5 day virtual professional development residency for classroom teachers led by dance educator and seasoned teaching artist Sarah Council. Program participants will acquire a variety of accessible arts integration strategies that offer easy ways to explore curriculum areas through dance and get their students moving! Teachers will work together to become comfortable using these strategies as they design and implement an arts integrated lesson plan.

Over the course of this residency, participants will:
– Experience a variety of tools used to integrate movement into their classrooms and curriculum.
– Practice leading these strategies in small working groups.
– Design and implement an original arts integrated lesson plan for use in their classroom.
– Receive mentoring and feedback on their plan from Ms. Council and a community of peers.
