Carnaval! Brazilian Percussion

Teaching Artist: Moacyr Marchini

Moacyr Marchini, a native of Brazil, invites students to experience the heartbeat of his native country. The classroom will be filled with students playing tambourines, shakers, rain sticks, cowbells and traditional Brazilian instruments such as the pandeiros, the berimbau and the surdo. Upon request, students may construct their own instruments and costumes and present a Carnaval parade as a culminating activity. Also available for after school.
