Best Foot Forward: An Intro to the Art of Public Speaking

This class is designed to build confidence and create ease in the art of public speaking. Through carefully guided exercises, activities, and creative imagery, students will explore the concepts of body awareness and vocalization. Lively and fun theater improvisations are employed to free the imagination and enhance students’ verbal and physical presentation skills. Ultimately, participants gain self-confidence and experience effective communication through empowered public speaking.

Students will work in groups, duos, and solo to build presentation/communication strength. Theater games/activities will be employed to free up imagination and creativity. Structured scenarios and situations will require students to make cognitive choices reflecting both emotional and intellectual investment.
